John Polanowicz

John is a former Army Blackhawk pilot, graduate of West Point and has an MBA from Stanford. He was most recently the Secretary of Health & Human Services for Massachusetts. John is an experienced leader with expertise in large system and hospital management, governmental oversight, strategic planning, organizational design, program integrity, process improvement and redesign, and change management.

 

Erica Borggren

Erica is the former Acting Secretary of Transportation for the State of Illinois and was Director of the Department of Illinois Veterans Services. Prior to that she served as a senior staff member for Army Gen. David H. Petraeus during his time as Commanding General of Multi-National Force - Iraq and as head of United States Central Command throughout the Middle East. Erica is a Rhodes Scholar, Truman Scholar and was the valedictorian of her West Point class. She holds postgraduate degrees in comparative social policy and theology from Oxford University.

 

Scott Quilty

Scott is a Principal and Content Marketing Strategist at BelayOn. Scott served as a Captain with the 10th Mountain Div. He is an Army Veteran of Iraq and was serious wounded by a roadside bomb during his tour. He resides in North Carolina and is finishing his MBA.



 

Dr. Deborah Hoffman

Dr. Hoffman is a pulmonologist with Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group out of San Diego. A Graduate of Penn and the University of Miami Medical School, she is Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases. Deb is also an accomplished runner and tri-athlete who works closely with the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s Operation Rebound, a sports and fitness program for American military personnel, veterans and first responders with permanent physical disabilities. She trained at the San Diego VA Medical Center.

 

Coleman Nee CURRENT CHAIR

Nee is President of At-Ease Strategies. Prior to this, he served as Massachusetts Secretary of Veterans’ Services. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Operation Desert Storm. Prior to his service with the Commonwealth, Nee worked in public policy development, public relations and commercial, not-for-profit and private-sector management for over 20 years.

 

Col. Daniel "Rags" Ragsdale

Col. Daniel "Rags" Ragsdale (Ret) is a Professor of Practice in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University. He joined the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency as a Program Manager in June 2011. Before joining DARPA, Dr. Ragsdale served for more than a decade at the United States Military Academy at West Point where he held a variety of supervisory roles, culminating with his service as Vice Dean for Education. IA recently retired U.S. Army colonel, Dr. Ragsdale's operational assignments included combat deployments in support of Operations Urgent Fury (Grenada), Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), and Iraqi Freedom (Iraq). In his most recent deployment, Dr. Ragsdale served as the Deputy Commander of a 2000-person Task Force responsible for the security and defense of the largest coalition based in Iraq.

 

Dr. Alexander Y. Shin

Dr. Shin is a neurosurgeon at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN specializing in hand and mircovascular surgery. He is a Fellow of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, and is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served as a resident at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. He has published extensively based on his research in traumatic peripheral nerve injuries and other upper extremity surgical procedures.
