Myomo® has been used as a therapeutic device in rehabilitation clinics and hospitals since 2007. We are also now cleared by the FDA for sale directly into the home. In either setting, therapy from a physical or occupational therapist (trained and certified to use the Myomo System) and adherence to a prescribed therapy program is critical to improvement.
Myomo in the Clinic
Myomo is provided as a therapeutic device at community hospitals, rehabilitations hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. If we have a clinic in your area, we will refer you to them. If we do not have a clinic in your area, we will approach the closest facility about using Myomo as a tool in their stroke rehabilitation program.
Myomo at Home
The Myomo Live Better Program combines the purchase of a Myomo System, for use at home, with 12 therapy sessions conducted by a Myomo Certified Therapist (MCT), a specialist in rehabilitation therapy using Myomo. Our proven clinical approach, over nine weeks, can set those that suffer from partially paralyzed arms on the road to increased mobility and independence.
Why the home? With FDA clearance to bring the portable Myomo device into the home, the patient is able to actively participate in his or her own rehabilitation. Because Myomo is portable, every day activities can be performed using the mPower 1000 as an assistive device. In addition, once familiar with its operation, exercises and therapy can be done when convenient.
